Shula’s career spanning over 4 decades has mostly been spent working in the public sector and for large scale organisations implementing and delivering on complex welfare to work programs for government. She has held both senior and executive roles for over 25 years working for national and international businesses. Shula’s strengths lie in start-ups and growing businesses both organically and through acquisition, she brings a wealth of experience in strategic planning, leadership, quality and governance and has held CEO roles for the past decade.
Since joining her family real estate business in 2013, Shula along with her son Mark has led the expansion of their agency to become a small group of companies that now incorporate PRDnationwide Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, Newcastle New Projects and SafeHands Property Management. The multi award winning agency operates across four locations in the region supported by a dynamic team of 60.
Shula is a Licensed Real Estate Agent and is responsible for ensuring that the company delivers an exceptional service to clients and the community in which they operate. Over the past 5 plus years Shula has transformed the business by adopting a more corporate approach to organisational structure, quality assurance, HR, finance and systems whilst focussing on growth and providing career progression opportunities for team members.
Shula has contributed her skills also by serving on Boards in the past including the Hunter Region Business Enterprise Centre for 11 years and the A4e (Action for Employment) International Board, delivering national and international employment services and training programs.
A passionate advocate of encouraging more women into the real estate industry Shula has written several blogs on the topic and written several opinion pieces which have also been published.
